*sigh*
It's so hot and I just fell asleep in my room in a very uncomfortable position for awhile. I guess Hemmingway just wasn't entertaining enough for me right now.

I saw Seabiscut today. A very good movie. Somehow it was suspenseful and riveting and really gorgeous even tho we were in one of those yucky front rows. Even after all this time out in theatres, the seats were still a sea of little white-haired couples. There was a cute old man who would commentate on all the most obvious things in a loud voice. If it had been a punk kid I would have seethed with fury but it wasn't. One could just tell from his voice how much he was enjoying the movie. No one told him to be quiet. He and my mother were the loudest ones in the theatre during the many ups and down in the movie. But when they were showing a medly of photographs and playing a radio programme of the "big race", the whole room was silent.

It's not exactly the movie that the previews make it seem- it's not as much of a fast-paced race to be number one. But it's not a slow and sappy movie. It's a great movie right now, and likely a much better one for anyone who knew times like that.

*sigh*

It's soooo hot and I have a headache. Ugh.

Eyes open- Dreams close. They dress- and leave themselves behind. Step out into the day- but try to escape the sun. Read books on being their own person- from inside one cubicle out of hundreds. Say ''I think''- yet spout only popular opinion. Take the same freeway witha thousand other cars- and call it a shortcut. Microwave dinner from a TV tray- in a dish it's a home cooked meal. They sit in bed and wonder why no one knows them for who they really are.
